film pessimo in effetti
cose buone: Venus In Furs, Kim Gordon che appare, Thurston Moore che firma il pezzo noise a metà pellicola, che l’assassina è Asia Argento.
Ma devo dire soprattutto che lui, Michael Pitt, è somigliantissimo, specialmente a figura intera. E che è anche un discreto songwriter (la canzone acustica che suona verso la fine l’ha scritta lui).
per il resto noioso soporifero e pretenzioso…

L’ho visto anch’io anni fa, su Rai3 in seconda serata. Me lo ricordo lungo e pesante, un pò serrato. Dovrei rivederlo, forse.
Ma tu, Felice, che ci chiedi sempre come la pensiamo, tu…come la pensi???
più in terza/quarta serata mi pareva ed era abbinato a dei bellissimi video dei velvet underground e al rock’n’roll heart su lou reed.
comunque davvero Felice, ke ne dici?
li ho visti l’anno scorso all’Heineken Jamming festival… ancora spaccano invero il culo, e hanno rifatto tutto Master of Puppets per intero per celebrarne il 20mo compleanno.
Concerto che difficilmente dimenticherò.mmm… ci sono numerosi gruppi interessanti in giro, tra i quali sicuramente anche gli arctic monkeys.
solo che mi pare nessuno sia ancora in grado di emergere in maniera definitiva: né i Franz Ferdinand, né gli Interpol, e nemmeno quelli che consideravo fino ad ora i più papabili, i Bloc Party. E gli americani non sono tanto meglio (Killers, Strokes e compagnia cantante)
la verità è che l’ultimo album che m’abbia fatto veramente pensare “cazzo” ormai è vecchio di sette anni, ed è di una band ormai sciolta. Si tratta di “Relationship of Command” degli At The Drive In

Oh lord, yeah!d’accordo su tutto, però secondo me Rape Me un po’ stona con il resto dell’album… è più una canzone da nevermind IMHO.
Va be’, troppo buona, sicuramente più di quanto effettivamente meriti… ico01
però passando alle cose serie, anch’io amo molto incesticide e penso che contenga almeno tre/quattro capolavori (su tutti Aneurysm e Stain) e che sia molto importante anche per delineare il lato più sperimentale della band, quello Di Hairspray Queen e Aero Zeppelin per intendersi. Però trovo che il suo limite sia proprio nella sua natura “voluta” di riempitivo, rappresentata dal pezzo già apparso su bleach, dalle ben 3 cover presenti eccetera. Reputo quindi Bleach (e la sua unica cover “Love Buzz” questa la sapevate vero?) e In Utero più completi come “album”. direi che In Utero rappresenterebbe per me quasi la perfezione se solo al posto di Rape me fosse stata inserita Moist Vagina.
Riguardo alla questione cover, sì Cobain e soci ne hanno toppate ben poche (forse solo Here she comes now e le tre dei Meat Puppets nell’unplugged, anche se quest’ultime più per il limite della strumentazione acustica che altro) e molte sono veri capolavori. La migliore? Per me sicuramente D-7, raro esempio di cover che fa esplodere tutto il potenziale nascosto nella versione originale. Chiedere al povero Greg Sage per credere…

comunque sì, Smoke, è la cosa che più o meno intendevo… però considera anche il fatto che la dinamica stessa di SLTS, ovvero l’alternanza piano/forte ritornello/strofa è una cosa anch’essa importata dai Pixies, la prima band a rendere tale struttura quasi sistematica nelle proprie composizioni. Ed è questo proprio il grande scarto che c’è tra Bleach e Nevermind…infatti se ti riascolti Bleach noterai che lì tutte le canzoni partono sparate dall’inizio alla fine, segno che allora l’influenza di altre bands (Melvins e Mudhoney le prime che mi vengono in mente) era ancora più forte di quella della band di Frank black.
