Beh, appurato che il messaggio su AOL è un falso, possiamo appurare anche che le parole del messaggio siano false? O è qualcosa detto da Kurt per un’altra fonte?
Rileggendo si tratta chiaramente di un falso.
1-Per la questione di Pennyroyal Tea (ho pensato si potesse riferire alla session del 30 gennaio che può contare come “mese scorso” ma come si sa non l’hanno neanche provata)
2- Non ci sono mai stati in quello studioPeccato però…
Sai che non sono più sicuro al 100%? Cioè,continuo a credere che sia un falso perché anni addietro avevo visto sufficienti prove che dimostravano che lo fosse,ma….non ricordandomi esattamente tutto,è presto per dare una conferma definitiva.
Per dire,sarà anche vero che i Nirvana non sono mai stati ai London Bridge,ma è altrettanto vero che un remix di PRT era stato effettuato e che il singolo sarebbe uscito di lì a poco (e non so quanto fosse nota l’imminente pubblicazione tra i fan. A posteriori tutti ricordano del ritiro dal mercato del singolo,ma nessuno sembra ricordare che fosse stato annunciato e quando). Coincide anche l’aneddoto del milkshare alla fragola richiesto dopo il risveglio dal coma (non so quanto fosse noto questo aneddoto,anche perché tutti sapevano del ricovero ma in pochi sapevano di tutto il resto) e l’ambizione di Kurt di registrare un album acustico (beh,qui sarebbe bastato fare 1+1 dopo aver letto l’intervista concessa a Fricke per Rolling Stone,che era stata pubblicata credo in gennaio).
Un’altra cosa che mi lascia il dubbio è che di recente avevo visto,mi sembra,una foto di Kurt alle prese con un computer… accidenti,dove l’ho vista? Devo fare memoria locale!! Forse non era una foto,ma qualcuno aveva tirato fuori un argomento convincente che dimostrava che Kurt e Courtney erano pc-muniti già nel 1993. Certo,onestamente non ce lo vedo il Kurt che smanetta su una tastiera… (stiamo pur sempre parlando di colui che usava la videocamera solo quando poteva collegarla alla corrente,perché incapace di ricaricare le pile) .
Insomma,prima di chiudere il caso definitivamente mi occorre raccogliere qualche altra prova…. Si tratta giusto di mettersi lì a cercare. E’ solo che in questo periodo non ho molto la testa per queste cose. In futuro,chissà.Beh so che nell’intervista del 3 aprile 1994 Courtney ha ammesso di aver appena acquistato un MAC…..forse di questo ti ricordi?
Mi sembra più probabile di una foto di Kurt alle prese con un computer.
In ogni caso il 90% delle volte in cui una celebrità è in chat non è la persona stessa che scrive, ma dettano a qualcun’altro che scrive. Quindi in questo caso non serve un Cobain che smanetta ico08

In bagno comunque una presa per la corrente c’è di sicuro. Sul terrazzo può darsi,che ne so io. Puoi anche giungere alla conclusione che non era sempre Kurt a riprendere o a riprendersi,che in casa non c’erano sempre e solo loro (pensa a Cali,o a Rene Navarette) e che qualcun altro buono a ricaricare le batterie può benissimo essere capitato,ogni tanto.
Senza contare che molti dei filmati privati che ritraggono Kurt,Courtney e Frances furono ripresi anche da Patty Schemel. Con la sua videocamera.@ Liturgy: come avrai notato (a proposito.benvenuto su LN !!! ) è stato finalmente riesumato il thread di cui accennavo (quello con le “prove”,cioè il post di un tizio che ammetteva di aver falsificato il messaggio) . Purtroppo tale post proveniva da un link esterno,leggibile nel 2008 ma non più esistente oggi… E quindi siamo punto e a capo.
Comunque gli utenti di LN già nel 2008 avevano sollevato gli stessi dubbi di cui abbiamo parlato oggi. Riscopro volentieri che l’aneddoto sul milkshake dopo il risveglio era già noto dal 12 marzo ’94 grazie a un articolo sul Melody Maker.
E’ già qualcosa!!Ancora mah…perché io letto ben altro! Secondo alcuni (non ricordo in quale pseudo biografia sia stato riportata ‘sta cosa), pare addirittura che il film My Own Private Idaho del 1991 si sia ispirato alla vita di Kurt. Il protagonista, interpretato da River Phoenix e morto poco dopo di OD, era un ragazzo randagio, che ne faceva di tutti i colori per procurarsi la droga (prostituzione, furti ecc.), soffriva di narcolessia e di depressione. Alla fine, giunge a Roma dove gli accadde uno strano episodio di semi coma e al suo risveglio non ricorda niente. Stessa cosa successa poi a Kurt. Da ricordare poi che il regista Van Sant è lo stesso di Last Days, ispirato agli ultimi giorni di Cobain. Da ricordare poi che Kurt durante un concerto nel giorno di Halloween dedica una canzone all’amico River. Ma ‘sti due si conoscevano?

An electrician had found a dead male body at 8:40 a.m. in Kurt Cobain’s house on Lake Washington Blvd. A shotgun and an apparent suicide note were nearby. Authorities refused to identify the body, but that didn’t stop Nirvana fans (and reporters) from gathering outside the house. Thirty people were there within half an hour of the first announcement; an hour later the street had become too crowded for regular traffic to get through. Shortly after noon, investigators confirmed that it was indeed Cobain who had done himself in.
The AP quoted Cobain’s mother as saying he hadn’t been heard from in six days. That Wednesday, it was announced that Nirvana was bowing out of plans to headline the Lollapallooza ’94 package tour. His wife Courtney Love, who’d saved him when he took the champagne-and-sedatives overdose in Rome in March (officially billed as an accident), was off in LA wrapping up preparations for the release of a new album by her band Hole.
During the Rome coma-watch, The Stranger ran a piece by Eric Fredericksen on how the media would treat a Cobain death, as a cultural icon and a nostalgia industry just like Hendrix and Morrison. I’ll try to avoid that shit here, but I’ll try to give a personal view on the guy’s work. Like most of you, I didn’t know him personally, had never seen him offstage. I knew people who knew him; they inveriably described him as just a soft-spoken regular guy who loved to make music and art and who hated the bullshit of The Industry.
Punk rock had developed in New York as an arty affectation. England took it seriously as a voice of youthful anger. The local new wave scenes across the US took the DIY aesthetic of punk even more seriously, eventually questioning the very need for New York/London tastemakers. Cobain emerged amidst this indie-rock movement, among guys who’d chosen not to listen when the industry said punk was dead. Cobain and Krist Novoselic started playing together when they were 19, and by the time Cobain turned 21 in 1988 Nirvana was becoming a big fish in the still-small pond that was the Seattle club scene. By the next year they had an album and were part of TAD’s European tour; by all accounts it was a miserable experience, with Cobain having a nervous breakdown onstage at the last show.
While tagged by out-of-town media as the Leader of the Grunge Rock Revolution, he hadn’t been a central member of the hard-partying, extroverted schmoozers who had developed the punk-metal crossover sounds in Seattle. He was an inwardly-directed soul who, during Nirvana’s club years, holed up in an Olympia apartment and lived on corn dogs and cough syrup. While he kept his private life private, he put his personal torments into his work with a rare purity and clarity. It was his curse/blessing to be the best songwriter of his generation, and to be ripe for the picking just as “alternative rock” was becoming a big business. But it was his decision to go to Geffen; if Nevermind had come out on Sub Pop, as was first planned, it might have sold a few thousand copies, the label would have continued its slide into bankruptcy, and the Seattle rock hype would have died down leaving Soundgarden as national stars but few others.
We’ll probably never really know what finally led him to quit the world. Perhaps it was the slip back into drugs after the highly-publicized hell he went through to get off heroin. Or perhaps the hype and the pressure finally got to him. To the end, however, he maintained a public image as a survivor.
On March 27 the following statement, credited to Cobain, appeared on the Internet’s Nirvana mailing list:
“So this is the Information Highway our illustrious VP has been jawing to the nation about. Well, my manager told me some kind of fan-thing was going down here and that I should come over and check it out. Well, here I am. I’d be lying if I said I’m not surprised to see the band’s popularity reaching even into the depths of the electronic underworld. Cool.
“Well I won’t keep you people long, but I thought you might be interested in what the band is up to. Last month Chris, me, and Dave came out of London Bridge finishing up a revamped “Pennyroyal Tea” (I didn’t much care for how we did the album version and thought we could’ve done much better with the song). Geffen should have that out shortly, knowing the speed with which their money machine rolls.
“We’re all taking a break from the music and touring for a bit. I’m still a little freaked over the Rome thing and need some time to rest and get over it, you’d think they could make a good milkshake, but no. Hope you people are ready for a calmer moodier album. Yep, Nirvana’s going back into the studio at the end of the summer. I’m already working on the new songs and artwork for the new album. If you’re expecting the same verse-chorus-verse, well, I suppose you have but two choices, don’t buy the new album when it’s released in early ’95 or get used to the fact that the band is changing. Longevity folks.”

Ho appena comprato il nuovo numero di Rolling Stones che ha Kurt da piccolo in copertina (!) e menzionano proprio questo messaggio del 27 Marzo, solo che sull’articolo lo danno per vero al 100% e non si domandando neanche dell’autenticità….
Grazie Kurt74 per il messaggio ritrovato, ma in sintesi cosa dice di interessante? A me sembra curiosa la storia del milkshake, non è strano che un tossicodipendente come risultava essere Kurt chiedesse, al risveglio dal coma, un semplice milks? E che poi lo nominasse di nuovo nel messaggio su AOL?
Secondo il medico (Osvaldo Galletta) ,Kurt si risvegliò dal coma con un vuoto di memoria (non ricordava nulla di quanto successo nelle ultime ore) e una gran fame,motivo per cui ha chiesto il milkshake. Ma di leggende su quella giornata ce ne sono già parecchie (tipo che avrebbe detto alla Love di togliergli quei “fottuti tubi dal naso” quando,secondo Cali,avrebbe invece chiesto di togliere il catetere…Qual’è quindi la verità? Non lo sapremo mai…)

E’ già stato postato su LN ma non mi risulta essere quello che avevo letto nel 2008. Io ricordavo proprio l’ammissione scritta del fan che aveva realizzato il falso. E ci sono altre cose che non mi tornano.

Ho appena comprato il nuovo numero di Rolling Stones che ha Kurt da piccolo in copertina (!) e menzionano proprio questo messaggio del 27 Marzo, solo che sull’articolo lo danno per vero al 100% e non si domandando neanche dell’autenticità….
Ho riletto volentieri l’intervista fatta da Fricke per RS a Kurt nell’ottobre del 93. Effettivamente, è molto ben fatta ed è proprio in questa occasione che Kurt mostra qualcosa di sé stesso, qualcosa di Piu intimo. Vi pare possibile che dopo tutte le sue dichiarazioni di una ritrovata serenità accanto alla famiglia abbia deciso, solo pochi mesi dopo, di togliersi la vita? A quanto pare, aveva pure messo in conto un abbandono da parte dei fans nel caso di un cambiamento di stile musicale, quindi non sarebbe stato uno shock per lui. Personalmente, lo avrei apprezzato molto oggi, quasi cinquantenne, se si fosse trasformato in una specie di Bob Dylan. ico08
